This source provided information on the Aurelian Wall, its quick construction, but also quick destruction. It stood as Rome's first defense against foreign invaders, and although it was ineffective, it was still an important structure.

The Basilica of Maxentius was built for the main purpose of having a plaza. This source briefly explains the ancient personality that the Basilica has since lost, like some vaulted arches and other cosmetic additions.

This source explains the reasoning behind the Pons Fabricius, and how effective it was, while still maintaining a very high image of class and style.

This book provided more information about the need for bridges, highlighting the Castel d'Angelo's bridge, which connects one structure as an island to the main Roman land.

This source was necessary for explaining the Baths of Diocletian in detail, it shows how crucial windows were for lighting and air flow, while also maintaining the building's overall style.

The Aqua Alexandrina was not a very important aqueduct, but was very forward for its time period. The arches involved are stunning, and allow ample space for traffic, while still doing its job. This source also goes into how the Goths were able to use this specific aqueduct to invade Rome.

A very simple structure, but essential to the Roman heart, this source showed me the most influential structure in Ancient Roman Architecture, being the arch, but essentially built to be one hundred times bigger than any other arch in Rome.

Trajan's Column is basically an open storybook, presented for the world to see. This source taught me that art is crucial to the world of architecture, and that a simple column can tell a legendary tale.
